# Pay out to a wallet

> Send crypto to an external wallet, in the same asset or converted from another currency.

Pay out from a vault to a contact, which is a saved external wallet. The destination can also be another vault.

## Same asset

Example: send 500 USDC from a vault to a contact on Ethereum. Same-asset crypto payouts use a transfer instead of an intent. See [Create Transfer](/transactions/create-transfer) for the API.

## Different currency

Example: convert 10,000 USD from a vault to USDC and send it to a contact on Ethereum.
