# Trade

> Buy or sell USDT or USDC for USD, EUR, GBP or AED into your own account. Request a quote, execute it, then track the transaction to completion.

Use Trade to convert between stablecoins and fiat in either direction. The same quote flow funds or empties your trading vault in fiat or crypto. See [Deposit into the LP vault](/use-cases/deposit-into-lp-vault) and [Withdraw from the LP vault](/use-cases/withdraw-from-lp-vault).

<Note>
  This flow is for **first-party** conversions only: the source and destination, whether a wallet or a bank account, must both be yours. It is not available for paying third parties.
</Note>

## API flow

<Steps>
  <Step title="Get a quote">
    Specify the input asset, the output asset, and exactly one amount. Source and destination are optional. Save the `quoteId` of the quote you choose. See [Get Quote](/transactions/trade/get-quote).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Execute the quote">
    Create a transaction from the `quoteId` before the quote expires. See [Execute Quote](/transactions/trade/execute-quote).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Approve the transaction">
    The new transaction is `PENDING` until approved. [Get the approval message](/approvals/get-approval-message), sign it, and [submit the approval](/approvals/submit-approval-action). The SDK's `createTransactionFromIntent()` does this for you. See [Approvals](/approvals/overview).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Track the transaction">
    Use [Retrieve Transaction](/transactions/retrieve-transaction) or [webhooks](/api-basics/webhooks) to track it until it reaches `COMPLETED`, `FAILED`, or `DECLINED`.
  </Step>
