# Restrict API access with IP whitelisting

> Use IP whitelisting to allow API requests only from trusted IP addresses. PrimeVault rejects any request that comes from an IP not on your list.

Restrict API access to trusted IP addresses. When IP whitelisting is enabled, PrimeVault processes only requests that originate from the IPs you allow.

## How it works

PrimeVault checks the source IP of every incoming API request and rejects any request from an IP that is not on your list.

## Add an IP address

  Add the IP addresses of your existing integrations before you rely on the whitelist. Requests from any IP not on the list are blocked.

    Go to **Settings > IP Whitelist**.

    Enter the IP address you want to allow.
